What’s wrong with dry eyes in diabetes?

Diabetic dry eyes may be caused by overuse of eyes, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye and other factors. 1. Excessive eye use: prolonged exposure to cell phones and computer screens can lead to a decrease in transient vision, causing dry eyes. 2. Diabetic retinopathy: poor long-term glycemic control can cause retinal microvascular damage, followed by a series of symptoms such as dry eyes, vision loss, diplopia and so on. 3. Dry eye: caused by local infection, vitamin A deficiency and other factors, can appear dry eyes, foreign body sensation, eye pain and other symptoms. Diabetic patients with symptoms of dry eyes are advised to go to the hospital and ask the doctor to make a judgment if they still can’t get relief after resting their eyes.
