Erythema nevosum, also known as wine-like nevus or capillary dilation nevus, often appears at birth or soon after birth, usually on the face, neck and scalp, mostly unilateral, occasionally bilateral, sometimes involving mucous membranes. The damage is initially irregular in size or several light red, dark red or purple-red patches with clear borders, not higher than the skin surface, and the capillaries are dilated. With age, the color deepens and becomes red and purple. In 65% of patients, the lesion will gradually expand and can be thickened and nodular by the age of 40, and bleed easily after trauma. Four hazards of infants with nevus 1. Although nevus is a kind of congenital benign tumor, some nevus are flat, slightly protruding from the skin surface and presenting nodules of different sizes. They can grow on various parts of the body, with the head and face being the most common. Some of them are hidden, such as perineum, armpit, back, etc., and can easily break down and bleed due to friction. Some hemangiomas can lead to deformation of the face and limbs. Some can lead to malfunction of internal organs, such as the occurrence of epilepsy and abnormal liver function. Family members should judge from the color of the nevus and whether it protrudes outward and whether there is hair. 2.Raise comprehensive lesions The immune system of infants is poor, and if there is no timely treatment, most of the lesions will only increase in size with the growth of the patient’s body and will not subside for life. The lesions can occur on all parts of the body, with the face and neck being the most common, accounting for about 75% to 80% of the lesions, most of which are unilateral and mostly on the right side. There is a 15% chance of refractory glaucoma when the ophthalmic nerve and maxillary nerve are also involved. In patients with nevus, 1% to 2% of them have ipsilateral molluscum vascular malformation, which is called Sturge-Weber syndrome. It is well known that children are innocent, and a piece of nevus will make your child receive discrimination and ridicule from children of the same age, which seriously affects the growth of your child and endangers the child’s psychological health. The child will not be confident or even have low self-esteem, autism and other psychological problems, so it must be treated. 4.Impact on image appearance The occurrence of infantile erythema nodosum is most common on the exposed parts such as face and neck, which usually shows bright red or lavender, or blue if it occurs in the deep subcutaneous layer. Because of its obvious location, it has a great impact on the external appearance of the patient. In order to avoid the above-mentioned hazards to the affected children, experts suggest that parents should go to a professional hospital for effective treatment in a timely manner after discovering the condition of their children. At the same time, experts say that patients with infantile nevus must receive treatment in time and choose regular therapy to treat it.
