Can facial nerve spasm be cured?

Facial muscle spasm is a functional disease, the main cause of the facial nerve stimulated by various factors and dysfunction, when the symptoms are mild, usually do not think, but in severe cases, frequent attacks, painful expressions and even can not open eyes to see things. One of the characteristics of this disease is that the attacks are more frequent when you are tired, especially when you are emotionally excited or stressed. Many patients are misunderstood as “making faces”, “immodest” or “bad image” when interacting with others, which affects normal social activities. The treatment of spasticity requires a very individualized design and plan, depending on the patient’s own acceptance of the symptoms. Oral medication can often reduce the condition, but it is difficult to cure it. Similarly, drug injections (e.g., Botox) can stop the flare-ups with immediate but not lasting results, and there is a risk of complications (e.g., drug allergy and permanent facial paralysis). When the condition becomes so advanced that it affects your life and social life, especially when you cannot open your eyes, you should consider surgery to remove the factors that stimulate the facial nerve to become dysfunctional.
