Do PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors have side effects? What are the side effects? Are they serious?

The incidence of adverse reactions and serious adverse reactions for the 4 PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors that have been approved for NSCLC, according to the drug insert, is summarized in the table below. The table lists the adverse reactions (all grades) that occurred at an incidence of >1% with monotherapy.

In addition to the adverse reactions listed in the table above, PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors may trigger adverse reactions such as myocarditis, sedation inability, epidermal necrolysis-like relaxation reaction, rhabdomyolysis, pancreatitis, uveitis, pituitary insufficiency, nodular disease, vasculitis, aplastic anemia anemia, hemolytic anemia, and seizures.
