Fractional laser technology was first published in 2004 by Dr. Rox Anderson, an expert in laser medicine at Harvard University, and is one of the most talked about new technologies in the world of cosmetic dermatology. The full name should be “Fractional Laser Skin Rejuvenation”. In Taiwan, it is also known as “Fractional Laser” and in mainland China, it is called “Fractional Laser”, and individual companies also call it “Beam Laser”, “Triple D Fractional”, “Stereo Fractional”, “Shuttle Fractional”, “Cold Fractional”, etc.
Fractional lasers generally include exfoliative fractional lasers and non-exfoliative fractional lasers. Among them, the fractional laser (hereinafter referred to as fractional laser) is more widely used in clinical practice because of its significant treatment effect and less side effects.
Fractional laser is a computerized scanning and tracking system that divides a continuous laser spot into a series of discontinuous and evenly distributed focused dot arrays. The diameter of each dot is about 70-120 microns, and the interval between the dots is much larger than the diameter of the dots. At these dots, the energy density is high and the laser penetrates deep into the dermis through the epidermis, creating a series of columnar microthermal zones. Within this zone, intracellular water absorbs light and heats up to necrosis.
The surface stratum corneum, on the other hand, contains very little water and remains largely transparent to light and intact. This zone rapidly initiates the trauma repair process and achieves partial skin remodeling and regeneration. The treated area takes about 1-2 weeks to basically heal and can be treated a second time (repeat treatment in 3-4 weeks is recommended). After 5-6 treatments in this way, all the skin can be regenerated once again. Generally speaking, the initial effect of treatment will appear about one month after the start of treatment, and the effect of treatment will be more obvious after six months.
Fractional laser has the advantage of fast and effective results of invasive treatment, but also has the advantage of non-invasive treatment with few side effects and short recovery time. It will only cover part of the skin tissue and the new holes will not overlap each other, so part of the normal skin is preserved and the recovery time will be fast without any significant side effects.
Fractional laser treatment generally does not require anesthesia and is only mildly painful and can be tolerated by most patients, treating lesions of approximately 20mm x 10mm in just a few seconds. No bandages are required after treatment and exposure therapy is performed. To accelerate healing, topical growth factors can be applied. Immediately after the treatment, the local skin will show well-arranged small white dots, but soon turn red or brown, due to the stimulating effect of the laser the surrounding tissue will be red and swollen, after a few hours or even dozens of hours, the redness and swelling will subside, leaving only black or brown dots (crust), depending on the depth of treatment and individual differences in general about 1 to 2 weeks to remove the crust, the skin back to normal appearance. Studies have shown that internal collagen regeneration can last for up to 6 months or even years.
The treatment does not affect the work of those who are small in scope or the work of those who are not red and swollen in 2~3 days, while those who are large in scope can resume their normal life after the scabs are removed. The treatment itself is relatively safe and can treat any part of the body.
Fractional laser is mainly applicable to.
1, all kinds of superficial scar (post-acne scar, post-surgical scar, post-trauma scar, scald scar, etc.);
2, wrinkles (forehead lines, frown lines, periorbital wrinkles, neck lines, etc.);
3.Sagging skin;
4, stretch marks, etc.
A large number of domestic and foreign clinical verification, the efficacy is also very clear and certain.
Fractional laser treatment generally has no side effects. However, some patients can be left with pigmentation after treatment due to sunlight exposure, which can fade on its own in most months. If infection or repeated injury occurs, there is a possibility of scarring or aggravation, and the treated wound should be protected as much as possible.
The technique is contraindicated for
1.Keloid body;
2, severe diabetes, bleeding disorders;
3. Those who have high expectations of the treatment;
4, local skin inflammation or trauma;
5. Patients who are not willing to undergo sun protection after surgery.
It should be noted that no technology is perfect and may not be suitable for everyone. For those who are eager to remove their facial wrinkles or scarring or stretch marks, it is important to be realistic about the benefits and possible negative effects of fractional laser. In particular, dermal collagen remodeling is not something that will work in ten days, much less in one or two treatments.
According to numerous reports from abroad, the best results are obtained six months after the end of the final treatment. Especially for different types of skin or different disorders, different skin tones, and different patient body types, the results and post-treatment reactions may vary. The majority of patients must not be too hasty! If you want to treat fewer times, you will have to increase the energy of each treatment, and the side effects may be greater; if you want to minimize the negative effects, you need to make more times.
