How long does it take for the body to recover after an enhanced CT

Enhancement CT has some side effects, but they are generally acceptable and do not cause any harm to the body, and the body usually recovers in about 1-3 days. The side effects of CT enhancement are usually caused by the contrast agent. Under normal circumstances, patients will excrete the contrast agent after a few hours after the test. However, some patients, especially those with allergies, may experience mild allergic reactions, such as itching, flushing, edema, and mild laryngeal edema, which usually take 1-3 days to disappear on their own without special treatment. Therefore, patients should observe for about 1-2 hours after the enhanced CT examination, and leave only when there is no abnormal performance. In addition, patients should be aware that they should not eat before the examination and should be examined on an empty stomach. Patients with severe hyperthyroidism or allergies to iodine contrast agents should not undergo enhanced CT.
