HIV carriers can infect others. The so-called carriers of AIDS are those who already have HIV in their bodies, but just haven’t reached the onset stage. Although the patient does not have any clinical symptoms or any uncomfortable situation during this period, they are also contagious because they have the virus in their bodies. The main means of transmission is the often said blood transmission, sexual contact transmission and vertical transmission from mother to child, and there are some other ways of transmission, such as occupational exposure of health care workers, irregular tooth extraction, tattooing and transplantation of organs containing HIV. Therefore, HIV carriers are also infectious and need to be regularly monitored for CD4 cells and HIV counts, and need timely antiviral treatment if indicated.
