There is no absolute best treatment for diabetic neuropathy, which is mainly treated with medications (e.g., methylcobalamin). The following medications are recommended for use under medical supervision 1. Antihyperglycemic drugs: they can control blood sugar and keep the patient’s blood sugar at a more normal level. Common drugs include insulin, biguanides (metformin), sulfonylureas (glibenclamide), and alpha-glucosidase inhibitors (acarbose). 2. Nerve repair drugs: it can nourish the nerves, and common drugs include methylcobalamin. 3. Anti-oxidative stress drugs: mainly used to resist nerve damage caused by oxidative stress, common drugs include α-lipoic acid. 4. Drugs to improve microcirculation: mainly used for anti-ischemia-induced nerve injury, common drugs are prostaglandin E1, cilostazol and so on. Patients with diabetic neuropathy are advised to go to the hospital for timely treatment.
