What to do if your child has a high fever that won’t go away

Children with high fever should go to the pediatric department of the hospital in time to clarify the cause of their high fever, improve relevant tests such as chest X-ray, sputum culture, stool routine, etc., and then give symptomatic treatment. Specific treatment methods are as follows: 1. Treatment of the cause: for high fever caused by viruses, bacteria, mycoplasma, chlamydia, fungi, protozoa and other infections, drug sensitivity tests can be conducted, antibiotics, antiviral treatment. For leukemia, rheumatic connective tissue disease and other causes, it is recommended that the original disease be treated promptly; 2, symptomatic treatment: if the child’s mental state is good, you can drink more water or physical cooling, such as alcohol rubbing body, warm bath, etc., at this time, do not blindly use antipyretic drugs. Because antipyretic drugs only play a cooling role, and do not target the pathogen causing the disease, blindly using antipyretic drugs may cause side effects. When the body temperature is higher than 38.5℃, it is recommended to take the oral antipyretic medicine ibuprofen suspension or acetaminophen, and at the same time, the dosage must be paid attention to. In addition to the above heat treatment, parents must closely observe their children’s condition during high fever. If they find that their children are depressed, pale or have other conditions such as vomiting or diarrhea, they should go to the hospital immediately to prevent the condition from deteriorating.
