What to know about excimer laser surgery

1, to see more comfortable after surgery, “space eye” is more ideal: just like human fingerprints, each person’s eye condition is unique. Therefore, myopia surgery needs to be “tailor-made”. The personalized myopia surgery, derived from space telescope technology and known as “space eye,” features iris recognition and wavefront phase contrast guidance technology, which draws a unique image of the eye under the control of a computer throughout the process, and performs precise laser treatment based on the image, improving the accuracy and safety of the surgery. Personalized surgery can effectively improve patients’ night vision, prevent post-operative glare, and enable clearer and more comfortable viewing. 2.Laser surgery. Patients who are at least 18 years old and have stable myopia for the past two years, with myopia not exceeding 1400 degrees, astigmatism not exceeding 600 degrees and hyperopia not exceeding 600 degrees, can only have surgery if they meet the above conditions. In addition, those who have eye inflammation, cone cornea, glaucoma, cataract, fundus disease or systemic connective tissue disease and autoimmune disease, severe scar body, pregnant women, breastfeeding, and those who have big concerns about surgery, etc. are not suitable for excimer laser surgery. 3. Myopic surgery cannot be done “on the go”. Excimer laser surgery is short, does not require hospitalization, and the vision can be restored to normal the next day, but it cannot be done “on the go”. The principle of excimer laser surgery is that the excimer laser interacts photochemically with the cornea of the eye, cutting certain corneal tissue and changing the refractive power of the cornea for the purpose of treating myopia. The method of surgery and the thickness of the cornea cut depend on a strict preoperative examination. Therefore, a strict and scientific preoperative examination is essential, as well as a preoperative dilated eye examination and a second day repupillary eye examination. Patients preparing for excimer laser surgery must be examined at the hospital at least one day in advance. In addition, those who wear contact lenses should stop wearing them for at least 3 days before the examination, and the surgery should be scheduled according to the examination results.
