The best time to treat lobar pneumonia is the first day after the detection of pneumonia

Lobar pneumonia should be treated as soon as it is diagnosed, and the earlier the treatment is given, the better the prognosis. Lobar pneumonia is mainly caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae infection, which often involves the entire lobe of the lung and is more likely to occur in young adults. In general, the natural course of lobar pneumonia is about 2-3 weeks. If the diagnosis of lobar pneumonia is not actively treated it may lead to serious complications such as infectious shock and even threaten the life of the patient. Therefore, treatment should be given immediately after the detection of lobar pneumonia to control the development of inflammation as soon as possible, and the entire course of treatment should be about two weeks. The diagnosis of lobar pneumonia should be followed by standardized anti-infective treatment in the respiratory department of the hospital, and not by self-treatment with antibiotics, which may cause drug resistance and delay treatment. At the same time, patients should drink more water and choose a light and nutritious diet, avoiding greasy and spicy foods.
