Red eye, also known clinically as acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis, is one of the most common clinical eye diseases. The disease is contagious and once detected requires active treatment to control the condition. Red eyes, itchy eyes, tearing, and conjunctival edema are the most typical clinical manifestations of pink eye. Red eyes are the most common clinical manifestation of pink eye. Once the symptoms of red eyes are detected in children, treatment should be carried out promptly to avoid affecting normal vision. Most patients also show redness and swelling of the eyelids. Sometimes both eyes swell up at the same time, and sometimes one eye starts first and then spreads to the other eye. Patients with viral or allergic pinkeye may have clinical signs of profuse tearing. Patients with pink eye may experience severe itching and even a burning sensation in the eye. Due to the heavy discharge from the eyes, patients may wake up in the morning with a feeling that their eyelids are sticking. Patients with pink eye may also experience a fear of bright lights. In severe cases, the patient’s vision decreases sharply. Once the above clinical symptoms are detected, active measures should be taken for treatment. Antibiotics or antiviral drops can be used to treat the condition. During the season of high prevalence of the disease, taking better care of the eyes can prevent being infected with pinkeye.
