Low menstrual flow for the first time after abortion is a relatively common phenomenon and can be considered normal. If the menstrual volume is low for three consecutive cycles, or even less and less, then we should be highly alert to the possibility that the abortion surgery has caused uterine adhesions and endometrial damage, so if the first menstrual volume after abortion is low, we can temporarily observe it for three cycles before making further judgments. Some people have endocrine disorders and poor ovulation, and their menstrual flow is low before the abortion, so the low menstrual flow after the abortion is also normal. If the menstrual flow was very heavy before the abortion and significantly decreased for three consecutive cycles after the abortion, a hysteroscopy should be performed to confirm whether the endometrium was scraped thin and damaged by the scraping, and then produced uterine adhesions. If the diagnosis is confirmed under hysteroscopy, hysteroscopic separation of the uterine adhesions is required and then the menstrual flow is treated later with manual cycles.
