The incidence of chronic constipation in China is about 3.6% to 24%, of which rectal proptosis is the main cause of outlet-obstructive constipation in women, and its prevalence is 8.95% to 12% in Europe and the U.S.A. RC is a hernia that is formed by the herniation of the anterior rectal and posterior vaginal walls into the vaginal vault due to the weakness of the anterior rectal wall, rectovaginal septum and the posterior vaginal wall, and is also referred to as anterior dilatation of the rectum. Anterior rectal herniation is the main cause of outlet-obstructive constipation in women.RC rarely exists in isolation, but mostly coexists with other outlet-obstructive constipation, and among the concomitant disorders, mucosal prolapse of the anterior wall of the rectum or endorectal intussusception are the most common. In the past, the treatment of RC complicated with AMP or IRI was difficult and the results were unsatisfactory. In recent years, we have used the modified Khubchandani repair method combined with suprahemorrhoidal mucosal cricothyrotomy to treat RC complicating AMP or IRI with remarkable results.
