Newborn baby is 30 days old with high jaundice

If the jaundice value is still high 30 days after birth, most cases are pathological jaundice. Normally, jaundice values should drop to within the normal range within 2 weeks of birth for full-term newborns and within 4 weeks of birth for premature babies. If the child is currently 30 days old and still has yellow skin, it means that there may be pathological factors in the child’s body such as infection, hemolysis, biliary atresia, genetic metabolism, etc., thus continuing to produce bilirubin before manifesting as jaundice that does not subside. Therefore, if this situation occurs, parents must not ignore it and promptly take their child to the hospital to improve the blood picture, liver function, virus series, thyroid function, liver, biliary, pancreatic and spleen ultrasound and other related tests to clarify the cause and treat the cause in order for the child’s jaundice to slowly subside.
