How long can HIV survive on a blade

HIV, the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), survives on the blade for a few minutes to a few days.

HIV survives mainly in body fluids, such as blood, semen, prostate fluid, vaginal fluid, etc. After leaving body fluids, the virus is less able to survive in the outside world. If the blade is dry, it may survive for a few minutes to a few hours; if the blade is dipped in water or contaminated with blood, it may survive for several days. However, HIV infection outside the body is very low, and even if the virus on the blade is alive and comes into contact with another person’s wound, the likelihood of infection is very low. The concentration of the virus on the blade is generally low enough to cause disease because HIV can only cause infection if it reaches a certain concentration.

HIV is less stable in the outside environment and its concentration is generally lower. It is important to stay away from unsafe sex, unclean blood transfusion or intravenous injection.
