What are the causes of ringworm?

Ringworm is a fungal infection of the skin that occurs in the groin and around the perineum, where poor local permeability, humidity, much friction, inadequate cleaning, and infection by others are the main causes of its development. Ringworm is a fungal disease, and both the mycelium and spores of the fungus are infectious. The fungus is lipophilic and has the characteristic of growing rapidly in hot and humid environments, and the groin is narrow and sweaty, which is very conducive to the growth of the fungus and difficult to treat thoroughly. Especially in summer and autumn, when the temperature of the surrounding environment is high, it is easy to recur when encountering people who are obese and sweaty, or have diabetes, long-term application of glucocorticoids and other immune deficiencies. It is recommended to use topical drugs with low irritation and low concentration such as ketoconazole cream and boutinafen cream, and adhere to the medication for more than 2 weeks or after the lesions have subsided, continue to use the medication for 1-2 weeks to prevent recurrence. Add oral antifungal drugs as appropriate when the cause is serious. Tinea corporis is contagious, so take care to treat it actively, and if it is combined with other fungal diseases such as tinea cruris and nail fungus, it should be treated at the same time. It is important to pay attention to hygiene, ironing, disinfection, and exposure to the sun, not to share clothes, shoes and socks, bath tubs, etc., underwear should be loose, and if you are overly obese, you should lose weight properly.
