Timing of treatment for early stage femoral head necrosis

Femoral osteonecrosis, known as the cancer that does not die, is a disease in which the femoral head collapses (painfully) and becomes dysfunctional due to structural changes in the femoral head as a result of bone cell death. Since the exact mechanism of femoral head necrosis is still unclear, the possible causes include high doses of hormones, alcoholism, femoral neck fracture, etc. The hip joint is a special area, and it is the main weight-bearing joint during walking, so it can cause the collapse of the femoral head in the early stage, thus causing pain and functional impairment. So far, we do not have a method to completely prevent its reversal and restore it to normal, but for those patients who are diagnosed with this disease early, we use arthroscopic minimally invasive medullary core decompression + bone grafting surgery, which can reduce patients’ pain and delay the time of femoral head collapse, thus gaining precious treatment time for patients. This technique is recognized by many experts at home and abroad as a more mature method. Moreover, these methods have minimal damage to the joint, minimal trauma, and minimal impact on future treatment. Patients should not believe in what “miracle drugs, miracle doctors”, if there has long been widely publicized, if there is the next Nobel Prize in medicine he will be able to participate. Often the hormones mixed with the medicine as reported in the news, is the further deterioration of the condition. There is also when the femoral head collapses, the patient’s symptoms could have been slightly reduced, which is also called by them the miracle effect of the drug, but the people are often unaware of it. Patients with femoral head necrosis should also be aware that in addition to taking the right treatment, it is necessary to reduce weight bearing with the help of crutches.
