The initial stage of HIV infection, usually around 1-2 weeks, may lead to viraemia and acute damage to the immune system due to a large number of HIV replications and a dramatic decrease in CD4 cells. Systemic symptoms include fever, sore throat, night sweats, arthralgia, enlarged lymph nodes, and enlarged liver and spleen. The skin injury is mainly manifested as a rash, mostly non-itchy red papules, occasionally diffuse urticaria or blistering rash, the distribution of the rash is mostly on the face and trunk, or in severe cases, the whole body can appear. In addition, 9% of patients with neurological injury may develop acute AIDS meningitis, which is characterized by fever, headache, vomiting, and meningeal irritation.
