How long can the fetus stay with cloudy amniotic fluid

There is no specific time for how long the fetus can stay in the womb after the amniotic fluid becomes cloudy, but it is related to the degree of cloudiness of the amniotic fluid. Amniotic fluid changes gradually as the fetus grows, and the cloudy amniotic fluid is due to fetal metabolites mixing with amniotic fluid, which is a normal phenomenon and usually occurs near or at full term. If the fetus is moving normally and the fetal heartbeat is normal, there is no need to worry and the pregnancy can continue until natural delivery. If the fetal heart rate is abnormal, the fetus may be suffering from intrauterine hypoxia, which can lead to fetal death within minutes to hours if the hypoxia is serious. Therefore, when you find cloudy amniotic fluid, don’t be overly nervous, but distinguish the degree of cloudy amniotic fluid and ask your obstetrician to analyze it together with the results of your maternity checkup.
