How long does it take to get the results of bacterial culture

Bacterial cultures are required for some clinical infectious diseases to help treat the disease and facilitate early recovery. Most bacterial cultures take 3 days to produce results. Bacterial culture refers to the artificial survival of bacteria in a suitable environment to grow and multiply, and is a common technique used in clinical testing. In most cases, the amount of bacteria in the specimen is small, usually 1 day of culture can only roughly distinguish what type of bacteria belong to, if you want to identify the type of bacteria, it is necessary for the bacteria to multiply and grow, generally consumed about 3 days. If the specimen contains a lot of bacteria, then 1 day of culture will be able to identify the type of bacteria. However, some bacteria grow slowly and require longer culture time, such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which takes 1 week or more. In addition, when taking specimens should try to avoid contamination of specimens, such as the use of sterile containers, timely delivery, otherwise it will affect the results of bacterial culture.
