Bed rest for several days for endo-thickness scraping

Absolute bed rest is generally not necessary after endometrial thickening, and weight bearing and strenuous exercise should be avoided for half a month. The thickness of the endometrium changes dynamically during a menstrual cycle and is usually thickest before the onset of menstruation, close to 10 mm, and thinnest after the end of menstruation, about 5 mm. If the endometrium continues to thicken, it can lead to menstrual disorders and irregular vaginal bleeding, and diagnostic curettage is required. This test causes minimal damage to the patient’s endometrium and usually does not require strict bed rest after the procedure, as absolute bed rest is not conducive to the drainage of blood from the uterine cavity. Therefore, patients are advised to do a moderate amount of outdoor activities after the procedure, but care should be taken to avoid excessive physical activity for half a month. In addition, patients should also pay attention to strengthening nutrition and avoiding spicy, cold and other stimulating foods after scraping, as well as preventing infection and prohibiting intercourse and tub bathing for half a month.
