For ladies who love beauty – lumpectomy thyroid surgery

In recent years, I don’t know if it’s because of air and water pollution, food safety, or other reasons, but the number of people suffering from thyroid disease has increased, especially among women. Some people need surgery. Surgery may leave incision scars of varying lengths on the neck, which is something that beauty-conscious women do not want to accept. The answer is yes, lumpectomy thyroid surgery. The instruments and equipment used in laparoscopic thyroid surgery are similar to those used in ordinary laparoscopic surgery, except for a few special instruments. It is done by making a small incision of 5 mm in diameter in each side of the areola area and another 10 mm opening between the two breasts to complete the thyroid surgery. After the surgery is completed, the surgical scar is not visible in the neck area. The advantages of this surgery: 1. This is the main advantage. After all, the beauty of the neck is part of female beauty. 2. Very little bleeding. This is a common feature of lumpectomy. If there is a little more bleeding, the surgical field is not clear, i.e., it may be necessary to transfer to open surgery. 3.The postoperative pain is far less than that of open surgery. 4. Both the hospitalization time and postoperative recovery are faster than that of open surgery. Disadvantages of the procedure: 1.The surgical area of the neck needs to be separated for a surgical operation, so the invasive surface is larger than that of open surgery. 2. Tumors that are too large are not suitable. Because the “exit” of this procedure is only 10mm, even though the human tissue is elastic and can be expanded, the caliber after expansion is still limited, so some tumors with a diameter of >3cm, especially solid tumors, are not suitable. Unless the outlet is artificially enlarged or the tumor is divided into smaller pieces, it is not suitable for tumors with a diameter of >3cm, especially solid tumors. 3. Malignant ones are not suitable. If suspicious malignancy is found only intraoperatively, it needs to be transferred to open surgery. 4) Thyroid gland suffering from hyperthyroidism is best not to be done by lumpectomy. In conclusion, lumpectomy thyroid surgery is just one more option for ladies who suffer from thyroid disease and at the same time are very concerned about neck scarring. It is not a panacea and there are certain indications. It is also true that the post-operative results are other than satisfactory. Here is a picture of an example.
