Does the lymphatic pain in the neck matter?

Whether lymphatic pain in the neck is important or not cannot be generalized. There are many clinical reasons for this symptom, and it should be judged according to the specific cause. Painful lymph nodes in the neck can be considered as lymphadenitis. It is usually a secondary cervical lymphadenitis caused by viral or bacterial infection in the upper respiratory tract or throat. Usually after treatment of the primary disease, such as upper respiratory tract infection, pneumonia, and laryngitis, the symptoms of lymph node pain can be relieved and are usually not a major problem. In addition, there may be metastasis of lymph nodes in the neck caused by malignant tumors. The typical manifestation is local lymphatic pain, or even fusion of lymph nodes, compression of local blood vessels, accompanied by swelling of the head and face or numbness and abnormal sensation, which is more serious and often requires hospitalization. For patients with lymphatic pain, they should pay attention to avoid eating spicy and irritating food and prohibit smoking and alcohol during the treatment period, which can assist in relieving the discomfort.
