There are many different types of painful breast nodules. The most common painful nodules are the painful nodules of breast enlargement.
These include the normal nodules of breast enlargement and the painful nodules like blisters, which are medically called breast cysts. These two types of nodules are usually not easily managed and do not require surgery and can be treated with some medication.
Some painful breast nodules, such as rare fibroids, nodules formed by fat necrosis due to trauma and massage, can also be associated with pain and surgery is usually recommended. Pain caused by cancer is very rare, so some of the nodules that are said to be painful in the breast need to be managed surgically.
