The survival rate of stage IV thyroid cancer is mainly related to the type of tumor, individual patient factors and treatment, which should be analyzed on a case-by-case basis. Stage IV thyroid cancer is considered to be advanced thyroid cancer, usually with lymphatic metastasis and serious neck damage, which may lead to bone metastasis or brain metastasis and other distal tissues and organs, and the function of corresponding organs may also be reduced. Among them, the cure rate of papillary carcinoma is about 90%, and if the metastasis is in the middle or late stage, the patient’s survival period is usually 2-3 years. In the case of advanced medullary carcinoma and undifferentiated carcinoma, the survival rate of patients for more than 3 years is very low, and most of them do not exceed 1 year. Since the cancer cells have spread severely, there are fewer treatment options, and if the patient still has a chance of local surgical treatment in the clinic, it is recommended to try to take it. Postoperative radiological techniques and pharmacological chemotherapy need to be chosen in conjunction with the disease to prolong the patient’s survival. Therefore, patients with stage IV thyroid cancer should actively cooperate with treatment in order to relieve various adverse symptoms, improve the quality of survival and prolong the survival period.
