What are the misunderstandings of cervical spondylosis?

1.Rattling sound when you turn your head, mistakenly thinking you have cervical spondylosis? The joints of the human body, including the cervical spine, normally have more or less rattling sounds, which are caused by friction between ligaments and bones or between bones and bones when moving. If there is no other discomfort, there is no need to worry at all. This is mostly a physiological phenomenon and not cervical spondylosis. 2, neck and shoulder pain, you have cervical spondylosis? Many people feel soreness in their neck or shoulder from time to time for many reasons, including myofasciitis of the neck and shoulder, muscle strain, frozen shoulder, early cervical spondylosis, etc. For early cervical spondylosis, patients usually have relatively clear bad working and living habits, such as playing with cell phones with their heads down for a long time recently, staring at the computer for a long time and working overtime. Therefore, cervical spondylosis can lead to symptoms such as neck and shoulder pain, but not all neck and shoulder discomfort is cervical spondylosis. 3, low pillow is not related to cervical spondylosis? The right pillow can let the tired neck muscles and surrounding ligaments and other tissues get a full repair, pillow too high, too low are not conducive to neck rest, may also cause or aggravate cervical spondylosis. The ideal pillow should be able to maintain the normal physiological curvature of the cervical spine, the pillow is too low, the cervical spine is equivalent to in the posterior extension (backward) position, the pillow is too high, the cervical spine is equivalent to in the forward flexion (head down) state, these two postures are incorrect, not conducive to the relief of the neck muscles. 4.Simple exercises help to relieve cervical spondylosis? For people with a high incidence of cervical spondylosis, such as office workers and low-headed people, prevention should be the main focus. Change the lifestyle, such as using the computer, playing cell phones, playing mahjong and other long time low head, to last 40-60 minutes after a break of about 10 minutes, get up and walk, do neck activities, etc.. Avoid reading books and newspapers and cell phones half-lying before going to bed. These changes in lifestyle habits are very important to block the occurrence of cervical spondylosis at the source. For early cervical spondylosis, such as neck and shoulder pain, stiffness, etc., simple neck exercises can play a certain effect, but when the nerve is compressed, any exercise method is not helpful. 5, hand numbness and dizziness is suffering from cervical spondylosis? There are many reasons for hand numbness, such as mouse hand, elbow canal syndrome, cervical spondylosis, etc. Similarly, there are various reasons for dizziness, such as unstable blood pressure, insufficient blood supply to the basilar artery, Meniere’s disease, cervical spondylosis, etc. Therefore, not hand numbness, dizziness is cervical spondylosis, once the symptoms appear, promptly seek medical advice. 6.Only the appearance of cervical spine osteophytes is considered as cervical spondylosis? Some people think it is cervical spondylosis when they find cervical spine osteophytes on routine checkup and X-ray, which is a wrong understanding. Cervical spondylosis is a clinical syndrome caused by long-term strain and osteophytes in the cervical spine, or degeneration of intervertebral discs and thickening of ligaments, resulting in pressure on the cervical spinal cord, nerve roots or vertebral arteries, which further leads to a series of functional disorders. Patients with cervical spondylosis will have more or less varying degrees of osteophytes, but some people have osteophytes but no clinical symptoms, which cannot be called cervical spondylosis. 7. Is cervical spondylosis a disease of the elderly and not of the young? Cervical spondylosis mostly occurs in office workers and long-time desk workers, but with the popularization of the Internet and the promotion of mobile devices, there is a trend of cervical spondylosis becoming younger. Clinically, there are many IT people in their twenties and thirties suffering from cervical spondylosis, and cervical spondylosis is not just the “patent” of the elderly.
