If a woman presenting with weak contractions eventually completes a normal labour after active treatment, it usually does not affect the birth of a second child. However, if the woman has complications such as uterine rupture or severe postpartum haemorrhage as a result of weak contractions, or if she has difficulty delivering and undergoes a caesarean section, the birth of a second child may be affected.
If you have had a previous episode of weak contractions, it is advisable to consult your doctor at a specialist obstetric or reproductive clinic when considering a second child to avoid increasing the risk of pregnancy.
