Five major hazards of poor sleep

Sleep is an essential process for life and an indispensable part of health. Sleep is one third of our lives, and physical, emotional and mental health all depend on a good night’s sleep. What are the hazards caused by poor sleep? Hazard one: sleep disorders cause accelerated aging of the body. It has been proven that sleeplessness can lead to aging or failure of the human body. Long-term sleep deprivation can also threaten human health, which first manifests itself as excessive fatigue of the nervous system, neurasthenia, reduced physical and mental labor efficiency, lack of energy, memory loss, dizziness and headache, blurred vision, tinnitus, general weakness, serious cases will affect the function of the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, digestive system, and then lead to the occurrence of disease. Hazard two: sleep disorders reduce the function of the body’s immune system. Research shows that the main body defense system is not enhanced in the wake, but in the sleep, and mainly in the sleep to the middle of the night “deep slow wave sleep”. Therefore, the first half of the night “sleep well” is the best “prescription” to enhance the body’s immune function. Long-term sleep deprivation or sleep disorders can cause a decline in the body’s immune function, leading to the occurrence of disease. Hazard three: sleep disorders can cause hypertension. About 1/3 of primary hypertension is caused by sleep disorders. In particular, patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome are more likely to develop hypertension. It is characterized by a night of sleep, not only does not drop blood pressure, but higher than before sleep, resulting in cerebrovascular accidents. Such diseases such as lifting sleep apnea and hypoxia, hypertension can be controlled or cured. Hazard 4: Sleep disorders induce diabetes. Studies have shown that insomnia patients have a tendency to develop diabetes, or a higher percentage of diabetes than those who sleep normally. Diabetic patients with poor sleep at night often lead to increased blood sugar the next day. Hazard 5: Sleep disorders induce cardiovascular disease. Sleep disorders often lead to sympathetic excitation, mental tension, neuroendocrine dysfunction, abnormal regulation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, increased renin activity, thus causing increased blood pressure and cerebral hemorrhage attacks. Patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome are prone to blood rheology changes, elevated blood viscosity, platelet aggregation, resulting in thrombosis, causing ischemic cerebrovascular disease attacks.
