How should sleep snoring and breath-holding be treated?

Sleep snoring and breath-holding are caused by the soft palate and tongue dropping back during sleep. Currently, there are three main treatments: 1) ventilator (CPAP); 2) palatopharyngeal surgery (for patients with soft palate hypertrophy); 3) oral appliance (for patients with receding jaw and mild to moderate obstructive apnea hypoventilation syndrome). Currently, there is no “complete cure” for this disease. From the point of view of economy, practicality and low risk. Oral appliances are preferred worldwide. The All-Army Oral Disease Center is now working on the treatment of this type of disease. Our center adopts the individualized snore stopper. After the patient wears this snore stopper, the lower jaw is passively fixed in the appropriate forward position, which drives the jaw and tongue root to move forward, expanding the narrow palatopharyngeal and linguopharyngeal airways, thus increasing the ventilation, improving oxygen supply, eliminating or reducing low snoring, and improving sleep quality. After the patient wears this snore stopper, the jaw is still able to move within a certain range, but it does not return to its original position. The treatment is simple, non-invasive, comfortable to wear, inexpensive and effective, and it is a new type of soft cushion oral snore stopper.
