Vitiligo is one of the common pigmented skin diseases, which seriously affects the physical and mental health of patients.
Vitiligo is divided into segmental, common, mixed and undefined types according to the 2012 Vitiligo Global Issues Consensus Conference and expert discussions.
1, segmental vitiligo (segmentalvitiligo): usually refers to simple asymmetric vitiligo distributed along a certain dermal nerve segment (completely or partially matching skin segments). A few of them can be distributed bilaterally in multiple segments.
2, non-segmental vitiligo (non-segmental vitiligo): including epidemic, pancystic, facial and cervical, extremity and mucosal type. The sporadic type refers to white spots ≥ 2, area 1-3; the pancystic type refers to white spot area 4 (>50%); face and neck type, extremity type, mucous membrane type have the possibility of developing into pancystic type.
3, mixed type vitiligo: segmental type and non-segmental type co-exist.
4, undetermined type of vitiligo (original limited type): refers to a single lesion with an area of grade 1, and the consultation fashion cannot be determined as segmental or non-segmental type.
Vitiligo severity rating The palm area is about 1% of the body surface area.
Grade 1 is mild, with white patches <1% body surface area; Grade 2 is moderate, with white patches accounting for 1%-5% body surface area; Grade 3 is moderately severe, with white patches accounting for 6%-50% body surface area; Grade 4 is severe, with white patches >50% body surface area.
For lesions with white spot area <1% body surface area, refer to the palm knuckle unit assessment, 1 palm area is divided into 32 knuckle units, the palm area is 18 knuckles accounting for 0.54% and 1 knuckle accounting for 0.03%. The area of white spots can be judged by vitiligo area scoring index.
