(2) Cough and expectorant: cough and expectorant drugs such as Ambroxol, Glycyrrhiza glabra, acetylcysteine can be used to relieve cough and sputum symptoms. Cough suppressants such as codeine and dextromethorphan can also be given to patients with mainly dry cough. (3) Alleviation of asthma: bronchodilators such as aminophylline or inhaled β₂ agonists such as salbutamol can be used to alleviate asthma symptoms. 2. Treatment during the remission period (1) Health education should be provided to the patients, and they should be instructed to quit smoking and avoid inhalation of harmful gases or particles. (2) Appropriate exercise to enhance physical fitness and prevent colds. Chronic bronchitis patients should consult the doctor in time and standardize the treatment under the doctor’s guidance.
