Don’t panic when you find an early cataract. The appearance of age-related cataracts is a natural aging process. Cataract is a lens disease, a decrease in the transparency of the lens. Various causes such as aging, trauma, poisoning, heredity, radiation, immune and metabolic abnormalities can cause disorders in lens metabolism, resulting in clouding of the lens proteins due to degeneration, leading to cataract. The symptoms of early cataract are not obvious. Some patients may experience progressive vision loss, some patients may be obvious at night, some patients may be obvious in places with strong light, or they may also have foggy sensation, decreased color sensitivity, and may be accompanied by a series of symptoms such as photophobia and tearing. At present, there are no clinically effective drugs available for early cataracts. What we need to pay attention to is: pay attention to diet, eat less spicy and stimulating food, eat a balanced diet with more vitamin A and vitamin C, drink less alcohol and smoke less, and pay attention to light avoidance, avoid bright light stimulation, wear hats and sunglasses when going out in strong sunlight, and avoid direct sunlight. These are helpful to slow down the progress of cataracts.
