Daily care of patients with acute lower extremity deep vein thrombosis

1.Patients with acute venous embolism should rest in bed for 2 weeks to control edema and reduce pain, elevate the affected limb by 20o-30o, but do not overstretch the lower limb or put pillows or other objects under the knee to flex the knee joint to prevent further obstruction of venous return. 2.Patients with limb pain before surgery can be given painkillers. Patients must be advised not to massage and rub the affected limb with their hands to avoid thrombus dislodgement causing pulmonary embolism. 3, eat a low-fat diet rich in fiber, keep the bowel movement smooth to reduce the impact of increased abdominal pressure on the lower limb venous reflux due to forceful defecation. It is not advisable to wear tight-fitting clothes to avoid blood stagnation due to increased venous pressure. 4.When going down to the ground, need to wear elastic stockings or use elastic bandages to properly compress the superficial veins to promote venous blood return and reduce swelling of the lower limbs. 5.If there is superficial venous inflammation, patients should be advised to avoid standing for too long or walking long distances, and should constantly change the weight-bearing limbs when standing, and often land on the toes to strengthen the contraction of the fat intestinal muscles. 6. Observe the condition closely, if the patient has symptoms such as dyspnea, chest pain, hemoptysis, cough, drop in blood pressure and rapid pulse, consider the possibility of complications of pulmonary embolism, immediately lay the patient down, avoid strenuous activities such as turning and deep breathing and coughing, give high concentration of oxygen and notify the physician to actively cooperate with resuscitation.
