Myopia surgery is currently advertised quite a lot, but in fact, each method has its own characteristics. Excimer laser LASIK surgery is one of the mainstream methods. Femtosecond is only one of the ways of LASIK surgery, that is, the surface flap of LASIK is made with femtosecond, and the refractive correction is still done by excimer laser. Surface cutting is my preferred excimer laser procedure, which saves the amount of corneal removal and provides the greatest post-operative strength against external influences than either of these procedures. Full femtosecond intracorneal lens removal has its limitations and is still in the exploratory phase. IOL implantation in crystalline eyes (ICL) is a complementary modality to ultra-high myopia surgery and is not yet easy to promote widely because of the threat of complications from glaucomatous cataracts. Each of these modalities has its own characteristics, and patients should go to a regular hospital and choose a safe and appropriate myopia correction surgery according to their respective conditions, rather than listening to some misleading advertisements driven by financial interests.
