Nasal polyp is a superfluous organism growing inside the nose, which is a kind of benign tumor, mostly related to long-term chronic inflammatory stimulation. Treatment methods include nasal polyp excision, intranasal septal sinus excision, etc., and active treatment of local chronic inflammation, such as chronic rhinitis, sinusitis and other diseases.
Some patients can use laser to remove nasal polyps, such as microwave laser, YAG laser, etc. The heat generated by the laser coagulates or cauterizes the polyp tissue, thus achieving the treatment effect. Common surgical methods also include endoscopic polyp removal, i.e., nasal polyp removal under nasal endoscopy using wire rings or nasal polyp forceps; if the patient also has sinusitis, or nasal polyps destroy the sinuses, resulting in more sinus secretions, the sinuses need to be removed at the same time; if the patient is found to have polyp-like changes in the middle turbinate, the middle turbinate needs to be partially removed according to the condition, etc.; if the patient has a deviated septum, the septum needs to be corrected simultaneously. If the patient has a deviated septum, it needs to be corrected at the same time.
Since nasal polyps are often caused by chronic rhinitis, sinusitis or allergic rhinitis, patients need to be treated for rhinitis and sinusitis at the same time as removing nasal polyps, as well as immunological and anti-allergic treatment according to the patient’s condition.
