Can you get pregnant with high thyrotropin?

High thyroid hormone is a manifestation of hypothyroidism, which is mainly caused by a decrease in thyroid secretion due to stress, emotional abnormalities or irregular diet in daily life. Pregnancy is not recommended when thyroid hormone is high. Hypothyroidism can lead to an increase in the secretion of thyroid stimulating hormone by the pituitary gland, which means that there is a shortage of thyroid hormone in the body. If a woman is preparing for pregnancy, the shortage of thyroid hormone will affect the balance of other hormone levels in the body, and progesterone and estrogen will be affected, thus affecting pregnancy, and in severe cases, infertility. Pregnancy is not recommended in patients with high thyroid hormones because it can affect the development of the fetal nervous system, resulting in short stature and mental retardation of the fetus. It is recommended that the hormones in the body be balanced before pregnancy. Women with high thyroid hormones during pregnancy need to supplement the intake of iron in the body, eat more animal liver and, if necessary, take folic acid and liver preparations. If a woman has a high thyroid stimulating hormone, pregnancy is not recommended and should wait until the hormones in her body are balanced before becoming pregnant.
