Can I take levofloxacin for vaginitis?

You can take levofloxacin tablets for vaginitis, but not for all vaginitis. Levofloxacin tablets are effective in the treatment of vaginal inflammation caused by bacterial vaginosis or gonococcal infection. However, for mycosis fungoides, taking levofloxacin tablets may worsen the mycotic infection. If levofloxacin tablets are taken orally for the treatment of vaginitis, a routine examination of the leucorrhoea should be performed. If the vaginitis is caused by bacterial vaginosis, gonococcal infection or other miscellaneous bacterial infections, you can take oral levofloxacin tablets for treatment. In case of mycosis vaginalis, oral levofloxacin tablets are not recommended. Therefore, when treating vaginitis, effective treatment should be given symptomatically according to the results of the leucorrhoea test.
