What are the coping measures for OCD?

It has long been agreed that the treatment of OCD is difficult, and the best internationally recognized treatment plan is to use a combination of psychotherapy and medication, which can receive good therapeutic results. 1, first of all, you should establish the confidence to overcome OCD. Practice has shown that OCD can be recovered through active treatment, so do not lose confidence in treatment because of OCD, giving up treatment is the same as giving up on yourself. You should fight against the disease with a positive attitude, strong will and practical action. 2, psychotherapy There are various psychotherapy methods used to treat OCD. Such as: psychoanalysis, cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy (such as systematic desensitization therapy, aversion therapy, exposure therapy, etc.), cognitive behavioral therapy, Morita therapy, hypnotherapy, and introspective therapy, all have some effect. The following are several psychotherapies that are clinically effective in treating OCD that can be used for self-treatment. (1) Morita therapy: The core theory is “let nature take its course and do what it is supposed to do”. For example, when you have obsessive-compulsive thoughts, do not fight or use the opposite idea to “neutralize” them, but do what you should do with “anxiety”. No matter how painful the symptoms are, people with OCD should insist on participating in real life and working and studying with their symptoms. Sharpening one’s will to do what is necessary in work and study, no matter what the mood, is at the heart of the practice of Morita therapy. Morita therapy focuses on changing the attitude toward OCD. (2) Internal observation therapy: Internal observation is the main practice in Buddhist meditation, which refers to consciously focusing on one’s own feelings, somatic sensations, thoughts, and emotions in the here and now. The emphasis is on not judging or evaluating, on being open to acceptance and observation, rather than on rejection, resistance, and change. The focus of inner-view therapy is to change our relationship with our thoughts. (3) Four-part therapy for OCD: Based on various psychotherapies, scholars at home and abroad have synthesized the advantages of various psychotherapies and concluded an effective self-treatment model, the four-part therapy: reconfirmation, reattribution, distraction, and reevaluation. When you have compulsive thoughts, you first “reconfirm” that they are compulsive thoughts or impulses, and “reattribute” that they originate from your illness – OCD, and then “redirect” your attention to something else, any interesting and constructive action. Eventually you can decide not to react to the obsessive thoughts or impulses, accepting the symptoms and not judging them. 3. Medication: must be taken under the guidance of a psychiatrist. In short, OCD is not a scary thing, as long as we build up our confidence we can definitely regain our once sunny mindset.
