How long does it take to get sperm test results

Sexual examination of semen can determine to some extent the activity and viability of the sperm and thus determine whether a man has infertility. It is actually quite simple to do a sperm test, only a routine semen test is needed to clearly know the quality of the sperm, and it takes 2-4 hours to do the sperm test before the results are available. When doing a routine semen test, you need to wait for the semen to completely liquefy before you can go through a series of tests, and the time it takes for the semen to liquefy varies from 5 to 60 minutes, so from a test science point of view you must wait 60 minutes to be able to fully determine whether the semen can liquefy properly, and if the semen is not completely liquefied after 60 minutes, then it means that there is a problem with the liquefaction, which will also affect pregnancy. In some people, the semen liquefaction is faster and can be completely liquefied in about 15-30 minutes, so it may only take about 40 minutes to get the results. The sperm morphology test takes about 2 hours because it requires staining. Moreover, in order to ensure the accuracy of semen examination, abstinence is generally required for 3-5 days before the examination, but should not exceed 7 days. Semen volume less than 3 days may not be enough, while more than 7 days may increase dead sperm and heterogeneous sperm, both of which may affect the accuracy of the examination results. Accurate examination can clearly know the number of sperm, viability and motility, through the analysis of these results to determine male fertility, if there are abnormalities need timely treatment.
