Moreover, in order to ensure the accuracy of semen examination, abstinence is generally required for 3-5 days before the examination, but should not exceed 7 days. Semen volume less than 3 days may not be enough, while more than 7 days may increase dead sperm and heterogeneous sperm, both of which may affect the accuracy of the examination results.
