How to tell if you have internal hemorrhoids or rectal cancer

You cannot accurately determine on your own whether you have internal hemorrhoids or rectal cancer. Internal hemorrhoids and rectal cancer have some similar symptoms, but are fundamentally different. Internal hemorrhoid is a soft venous mass formed by the expansion and flexion of the venous plexus under the mucous membrane on the dentate line of the anus. The main symptom is painless blood in the stool, which is usually fresh blood, and those with more bleeding may have anemia symptoms. Rectal cancer is a malignant tumor of rectal mucous membrane epithelium. Early symptoms mainly show changes of stool habit and character, such as acute and heavy stool, mucus-pus-blood stool, thinning stool, constipation, diarrhea and so on. Abdominal pain, abdominal distension, etc. can also occur. Internal hemorrhoid lesions are only limited to the anus, while rectal cancer can have tissue invasion and metastasis, such as forward invasion of the bladder, female uterus, advanced lung metastasis, brain metastasis and so on. To determine whether it is internal hemorrhoids or rectal cancer, it is recommended to go to regular hospitals to do relevant examinations, such as anal finger-pointing, anoscopy, colonoscopy, pathological examination, etc., so as to make a clear diagnosis and give treatment as early as possible to avoid delaying the condition.
