Laser treatment of hidden hair sinus case sharing

PilonidalsinusandPilonidalcyst, collectively known as Pilonidaldisese, is a chronic sinus or cyst in the soft tissue of the intergluteal fissure of the sacrococcygeal region, characterized by the presence of hairs. It can also present as an acute abscess in the sacrococcygeal region, which is punctured and forms a chronic sinus tract, or heals temporarily and eventually punctures again, and so on repeatedly. The cyst is accompanied by granulation tissue and fibrous hyperplasia and often contains a cluster of hairs. It occurs mostly after puberty at the age of 20 to 30, and is more frequent in Europe and the United States, where symptoms appear only because of increased activity of the hair lipid glands.

Surgery is the main treatment method, traditionally there is open surgery (the disadvantage is the long growth cycle of the wound, slow recovery time, affect work life), and there is excision and suture surgery (the operation is relatively cumbersome, there will be a certain percentage of incision complications, and also requires a certain amount of time to brake after surgery, but the recovery cycle is significantly shorter than open surgery).

Laser treatment of the hidden hair sinus is now more commonly carried out in Europe. It effectively avoids the damage caused by incision, the postoperative pain is mild or painless, the recovery time is short, and you can return to work earlier, and the current study shows that the recurrence rate of its treatment of hidden hair sinus is about 15%, even if the laser surgery fails, it does not affect the secondary surgery, and we are currently carrying out this technology.
