Fever with ocular congestion is a disease that causes an increase in body temperature accompanied by ocular congestion and is seen in more serious infections such as hemorrhagic fever, drug rash, acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis, and upper respiratory tract infections. The diagnosis of fever with ocular congestion is based on the characteristics of the symptoms. (1) Fever with hemorrhage is commonly seen in severe infections and hematologic diseases. The former are severe measles, epidemic hemorrhagic fever, dengue fever, viral hepatitis, typhus, septicemia, infective endocarditis, and leptospirosis. The latter, such as acute leukemia, acute aplastic anemia, malignant histiocytosis. (2) Fever with enlarged lymph nodes and tenderness may be due to local infection. If the whole body lymph nodes are enlarged, it may suggest lymph node tuberculosis, leukemia, lymphoma, metastatic cancer, etc. (3) Fever with joint swelling and pain may be due to sepsis, scarlet fever, brucellosis, tuberculosis, rheumatic fever, connective tissue disease, gout, etc. (4) Fever with rash Commonly seen in infectious diseases with rash. For example, measles, scarlet fever, etc. (5) Fever with cough, sputum and chest pain Commonly associated with respiratory system diseases. (6) Fever accompanied by abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting Commonly caused by digestive system diseases. (7) Fever with frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination, and back pain Commonly found in urinary tract infections. As mentioned above, there are many causes of fever, both physiological and pathological. Patients should not misunderstand that fever is caused by infection and abuse antibiotics and antipyretics.
