Endometrial polyp topic No. 5: Can endometrial polyps become malignant?

Some data show that about 70.3% of endometrial polyps are benign, 11.4%-25.7% have simple or complex hyperplasia, 3.1% have atypical hyperplasia, and 0.8% are malignant. Therefore, some scholars believe that endometrial polyps are precancerous lesions of endometrial cancer. In the literature, the cancer rate of endometrial polyps is 0.5%-4.8%, and most of them are endometrioid adenocarcinoma. The cancer rate is significantly correlated with age, reaching 10%-15% during menopause and postmenopause. Polyps with large size (>1.5 cm), postoperative triamcinolone acetonide for breast cancer and patients with hypertension are prone to cancer.
