Is it normal for a 7 year old child to have a vision of 4.9

A vision of 4.9 is normal for a 7-year-old child, but if a child maintains a 4.9 after the age of 8, he or she needs to be alerted to myopia problems. A person’s vision is not constant from birth to adulthood. Newborns can only see objects moving in front of them, and their vision only gradually improves as their eyes develop rapidly with the stimulation of the external environment. 4.9 vision is normal for a 7-year-old child. Usually children’s vision development is basically completed after the age of 8. At this time, if the visual acuity remains below 5.0, it may be myopia. Usually pseudomyopia can improve with proper rest and treatment, while true myopia requires timely eye wear to prevent the number of degrees from continuing to rise. True myopia and pseudomyopia can often be distinguished through dilated eye examinations. It is recommended that children as young as 7 years old with a vision of 4.9 have their vision checked regularly. If the vision improves gradually with age, the condition is not myopia. The presence or absence of myopia in children requires a comprehensive judgment based on their age, and parents need not be overly stressed because they are not 5.0.
