What are the symptoms of night blindness



Night blindness can be categorized into congenital night blindness, acquired night blindness, and temporary night blindness, which will cause vision loss and blurred vision.

1. Congenital night blindness: Most of the congenital night blindness is caused by hereditary factors, and the symptoms will be present after birth, which will be manifested as blurred vision and not being able to see things clearly at night.

2. Acquired night blindness: Acquired night blindness is mostly caused by retinal rod cell dysplasia or choroidal ischemic atrophy and choroidal inflammation, which will lead to a gradual decrease in the number of tears in the patient’s eyes and the emergence of dry eyes, and the patient will be unable to see clearly at night and have difficulty in orienting themselves, but there is no visual impairment during the day.

3. Temporary night blindness: Temporary night blindness may be caused by vitamin A deficiency in the body, which is only transiently formed at night to see things clearly and have blurred vision.
