How many days for a course of hyperbaric oxygen

A course of hyperbaric oxygen is given for 10 days, once a day, but in most hospitals hyperbaric oxygen does not work on weekends, so it usually takes about 2 weeks to complete a 10-day course. The course of hyperbaric oxygen required to treat different diseases related to neurosurgery varies, with neurological sequelae as well as carbon monoxide toxic encephalopathy going through multiple hyperbaric oxygen sessions. The use of hyperbaric oxygen for carbon monoxide toxic encephalopathy can improve tissue hypoxia and restore the physiological feedback function of blood vessels. 6 courses of hyperbaric oxygen are needed for light cases to basically recover; 8-10 courses are needed for severe cases to relieve. For cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral infarction and other neurological sequelae of more serious cerebrovascular diseases, hyperbaric oxygen therapy for more than 6 weeks can improve blood rheology index, reduce blood viscosity, hematocrit, fibrinogen and promote neurological function recovery. Therefore, hyperbaric oxygen therapy must be carried out under the guidance of a specialist, and different oxygen concentrations and oxygen inhalation methods must be selected according to the patient’s condition.
