What is myopic amblyopia

Myopic amblyopia is the result of imbalance in the visual stimulus input of the competing eyes during early visual development, with the dominant eye becoming the dominant eye and the inferior eye becoming the amblyopic eye. Most myopic amblyopia is accompanied by high myopia or astigmatism and occurs at an early age. The lack of visual stimulation due to high myopia affects visual development. Myopic amblyopia is usually due to refractive error in one eye, which is relatively large and does not receive normal visual stimulation at the time, and abnormal visual development. In case of myopic amblyopia, early detection and early treatment are needed and the results will be very good. Because the amblyopia treatment window is within 12 years of age, children older than 12 years of age are not treated as well, so treatment of myopic amblyopia should be done as early as possible.
