Diagnosis and treatment of infertile patients from the case of needle-stick baby girl

The case of the biological father who stabbed his baby girl in 2013 was a big deal, according to “China.com” and “People’s Tribune.com” reported on August 31, 2013, “Needle stabbing case of baby girl solved, killer is indeed biological father.” The case of the baby girl who was stabbed with 4 needles in her body was solved. The suspect baby’s father explained that after marriage, he had gone to a private male hospital in Harbin with his wife for treatment due to physiological problems, when the doctor said he would not be able to have children in the future. He therefore suspected that his daughter was not his own birth, so he had bad intentions. The baby girl’s father, because the doctor said he had a low sperm survival rate, suspected that his daughter was not pro-life and wanted to kill the child, they bought a box of steel needles, three times four steel needles into the body of just 2 months old child. After DNA testing, the baby girl is indeed his biological daughter. The police said his behavior is suspected of intentional homicide and has been placed in criminal detention. This case of injury to a baby girl is solved, but this leaves us with what kind of warning, and some thoughts. For young parents who are very anxious to have children, how to treat fertility issues, today’s male medical market, mixed, irregular medical, irresponsible doctors, or simply unqualified male doctors. So, how do we young parents who are eager to have children go to the clinic. First, we need to know what is infertility? Patients with male infertility are divided into absolute and relative infertility. Patients with absolute infertility, who do not produce sperm in the testicles and who show relatively little sperm or low vitality through semen examination, are relatively infertile. Theoretically, to get a woman pregnant, all it takes is a normal sperm and egg, and patients with relative semen abnormalities may have lower chances of getting pregnant than those who show better semen quality. In addition, pregnancy is also affected by other factors such as age and disease, and a normal couple of childbearing age has only a 25% chance of becoming pregnant each month and an 85% chance for the whole year. It is generally believed that couples of childbearing age who do not use contraception have an average of 25% chance of getting pregnant per menstrual cycle, 50% should get pregnant within 3 months after marriage, 72% should get pregnant within 6 months after marriage, 80-85% should get pregnant within 12 months after marriage, and some may get pregnant in the second year or longer. And the probability of the woman becoming pregnant with age begins to decline after the age of 30, dropping by about half by the age of 40. According to the 2000 WHO definition, infertility is diagnosed when a person with normal sexual function who has not used contraception for more than one year and has failed to get the woman pregnant, excluding female factors. Therefore, if a couple tends to be uncontraceptive for half a year, or even 1 month without pregnancy, it is not right to rush to see a doctor. Secondly, how to rationalize the male test labs. We take a checklist, how to look at the test list? The laboratory test report is only a reference, not that the value of the test report is a little lower, it will cause infertility, and on the same person in not time to do the test, the test results are also fluctuations. In the UK, it was reported that a fertile man had his semen examined for 120 weeks, and sperm density was measured once a week for 120 weeks, without medication or fever, and the results showed significant fluctuations in sperm density, with the lowest value reaching the standard for severe oligospermia. Fertility theoretically requires only one sperm and one egg to conceive, so a visit to a male doctor should not be focused on the test report; an abnormal test report does not mean that you are not pregnant. From the above case, the baby’s father saw weak sperm as absolutely infertile, and we earnestly hope that such tragedies will not be repeated. Third, the correct choice of treatment. For the treatment of male infertility, there are medication, artificial insemination by sperm bank donor, artificial insemination by husband’s semen, IVF, etc. There are many treatment modalities for male infertility, but the age and physical disease conditions of both men and women must be taken into account. Fourth, the treatment cycle of male infertility patients. It takes about 3 months for a sperm to grow from spermatogenic cells to mature sperm to be discharged to the point where it can be fertilized, and it is unrealistic for a patient to think that he can be cured in one month of treatment. Fifth, both men and women should be systematically examined. A baby is produced from a qualified sperm and egg combination fertilization, any one of these problems can not be pregnant, this is about two people’s problems, so one party found to have a problem, does not mean that the other party does not have a problem, may be a problem of one of the two men and women, or both sides may have problems.
