Generalised itching in late pregnancy may be caused by endocrine changes during pregnancy, impaired bilirubin metabolism and intrahepatic biliary stasis, or it may be related to allergic reactions, and in some patients may be associated with skin changes triggered by an overstuffed abdomen in late pregnancy.
